What Does Patriot Metal Works Actually Fabricate?

We’re glad you asked.
The short answer is structural steel, miscellaneous metals, repeatable CNC parts, and the occasional custom project that gives us a reason to say, “Yeah, we can figure that out.”
But what we actually do goes a little deeper than a list of capabilities.

Our Bread & Butter: Structural and Miscellaneous Steel Fabrication
From our shop in Bethpage, Tennessee, we fabricate structural and miscellaneous steel for commercial projects throughout Middle Tennessee and fabrication-only customers well beyond our local market. A large portion of the work moving through Patriot Metal Works is the kind of steel package commercial contractors deal with every day.
That includes things like:
Stairs and dock stairs
Handrails and guardrails
Ladders
Structural steel components
Miscellaneous steel assemblies
Custom components that don’t fit neatly into a standard category
Some projects are full packages with several different components. Others may only need one defined scope fabricated and shipped. Either way, we’re comfortable working from the drawings, breaking the project down into what needs to be built, and getting it onto the shop schedule. A lot of those projects are planned months in advance. They move through detailing, material purchasing, fabrication, finishing and finally delivery. But strangely enough, some of our best customer relationships haven’t started that way at all.
They started with a phone call that sounded more like:
“We have a problem.”
Emergency Overflow Fabrication
Construction doesn’t always go according to plan. Maybe a major component was accidentally left out of the original package. Maybe something changed in the field.
Maybe another fabricator got overloaded, missed a deadline or backed out altogether.
Or you suddenly realize you need steel a whole lot sooner than anyone expected.
That’s where we’ve built some of our strongest relationships.
Forgot a major component? Give us a call.
Your original fabricator can’t get it done? Tag us in.
We can’t promise that every emergency can magically become a same-day solution. Steel still has to be sourced, drawings have to make sense, and good fabrication takes time.
However, we do understand what it feels like when a project has a problem that suddenly becomes your problem. When we have the capacity and capability to help solve it, we will.
Sometimes that emergency stair, rail, ladder or structural component is the first thing we ever fabricate for a company...then one project turns into another. Eventually, instead of being the company they call when everything has gone sideways, we become the company they call before the next project ever begins. Those are the relationships we value most.
CNC Cutting: For Our Projects and Yours
Our CNC plasma table plays a major role in our own fabrication process.
It allows us to produce accurate, repeatable parts for the structural and miscellaneous steel packages already moving through the shop. When a project requires multiple identical components, base plates, connection plates, tabs or other cut parts, CNC cutting gives our fabricators consistent pieces to work with from the start.
That being said, our machine doesn’t only serve Patriot projects.
It can also serve other companies that need parts without needing another fabricator to take over their entire project.
There are plenty of reasons a company may choose to outsource CNC work; your shop is overloaded, you don't have the equipment for a particular part, or maybe tying up your own machine for a run of repeat components just doesn’t make sense. It's possible you simply need another source you can send a file or drawing to and get accurately cut steel back.
We’re happy being that resource.
Sometimes our role is building the whole steel package and other times our role is cutting one pile of parts that helps somebody else keep their own production moving. Both of those matter to us.
Custom Steel Fabrication:
We Still Like the Oddball Stuff
Structural and miscellaneous steel may be our bread and butter, but we're still fabricators.
Every now and then something comes across the desk that isn't a stair, rail, ladder or standard structural component and we look forward to it. Custom fabrication keeps things interesting. If it can reasonably be built from steel with the equipment and capabilities in our shop, we're willing to take a look at it. We're not interested in pretending we're the right shop for absolutely everything but we're also not afraid of a project simply because it doesn't fit nicely into a checkbox on a capabilities sheet.
Why Patriot Became a Fabrication-Only Shop
Over time, we've become increasingly intentional about where Patriot can provide the most value. For us, that's fabrication. There are companies that are excellent at managing the field, coordinating crews, handling installation and maintaining the GC relationship. We don't need to compete with them, we can support them.
By focusing on fabrication, we're able to put more of our attention where our customers actually need us: getting steel through our shop and into their hands.
That might mean taking on an entire defined fabrication package, handling overflow when another shop is buried or just producing CNC parts for a manufacturer.
Sometimes it means answering the phone when somebody says, “I know this is a long shot, but…”
Because at the end of the day, Patriot Metal Works is about making someone else’s job a little easier: helping a project manager solve a problem before it turns into a bigger one, giving a contractor another fabrication resource they know they can call, or helping another steel company take on more work without adding equipment, people, or production capacity. We want to be the team you can bring into the equation when you need someone on the fabrication side who understands that those pieces of steel are only one part of a much bigger project, with real people, schedules, and commitments depending on them showing up when they’re supposed to. That's why our mission is simple:
Steel is what we fabricate. People are who we serve.
So whether you're planning a steel package months in advance, looking for a reliable fabrication partner, outsourcing repeat parts, or staring at a missing component wondering who in the world you're going to call,
give Patriot a call.
We'll tell you if we can help. And if we can, we'll get to work.
